I like to underline the dynamism and vivacity of the surrounding world and to explore these kinds of elements that exist in life—in friendships, in rock concerts, in nature—through painting and drawing. Also, I not only want my work to transmit life and movement, I want this to be received towards my works as well; there is a definite interactive element running the gamut of my work—from my custom painted shoes to my oils. In my oil paintings, including the ones shown here, through contrasts of texture, I hope to invoke an urge by the spectator to reach out and touch my canvas.
Did this one a few weeks after being in Austin, but never put it up. Done @ Flipnotics cafe on Barton Springs. Pic in natural light would make colors look brighter/less washed out, but I felt impatient so whatevs.
